WAYS TO HELP

ISP is a 501c3 tax exempt organization.  College and universities who partner with us give minimally a tuition waiver.   All other expenses for the students are raised by local support groups.  ISP's operating costs are limited to salaries for two staff in the United States, as well as office, travel and communications expenses.

Tax-exempt contributions can be sent by check or money order, made out to:

In addition, perhaps you. . .

  • have a relationship with a college or university as a student, staff, or faculty member, or you know people at your alma mater. You could help ISP work with the administration to obtain one or more tuition waivers for Iraqi students in need.

  • will take the lead in forming a support group for the students attending a nearby college or university.

  • might join a support group (all kinds of support needed: with housing, meals, health, books, everyday expenses, contact with family in Iraq, language, culture, exploring the surrounding area, finding friends, adjusting to a very different environment).
  • will offer to be a financial sponsor for an Iraqi student. This might involve taking back-up responsibility for a student's needs, vouching for the student on forms the university prepares so that the US government, in considering the visa application, is satisfied that the student has resources that can be drawn on if they are ever needed.
  • will join the "Dollar A Day" Club by sending a monthly payment or donating  online.
