A presentation by Hussam alMukhtar, ISP student studying at Canisius College in Buffalo for the Ignation Scholarship Day. He features life in Baghdad, Iraq before and after the war in 2003 and his coming to the US in fall of 2008. Music is played on the Oud instrument by Naseer Shamma.

33 students are now studying in the US at colleges and universities across the country.The students featured in the video below were preparing to come to the US in 2008.

Andrew and Emily were in Damascus and spent time with the students as they participated in the Writer’s Workshop, held weekly.
